The Iron Producers Committee in the Emirates opens its new headquarters in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, March 15/ WAM/ The Iron Producers Committee in the Emirates opened its new headquarters in the “Al -Dar” building in the capital, Abu Dhabi, in a move that reflects its commitment to promote and develop the national iron and steel industry, as it is one of the main pillars of the growth of the Emirati economy.
The opening of the new headquarters comes within the efforts of the committee to support the industrial sector and adopt international best practices, which contributes to enhancing the state’s position as a leading center for the iron and steel industry.
The opening of the new headquarters, His Excellency Juma Muhammad Al -Kait, Assistant Undersecretary for International Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, Engineer Saeed Al Ghafri, Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Muhammad Al -Jaidi, Director of the Committee, and representatives of the UAE Chambers Union, “Abu Dhabi Chamber” and the leaders of the Iron and Steel Sector.
His Excellency Juma Al -Kate said that the new headquarters of the committee represents an important step towards enhancing coordination between manufacturers and government agencies and supporting national efforts aimed at developing the iron sector in line with the goals of sustainability and industrial progress in the country.
He added that the iron and steel industry plays a strategic role in the national economy, as it is one of the strategic and vital sectors in the UAE and contributes between 1.5% and 2% of GDP.
He explained that the iron and steel industry constitutes an essential pillar in supporting the construction and construction sectors, providing job opportunities, and promoting national exports … noting that the UAE has succeeded in becoming a major center for exporting steel products to regional and global markets, including the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.
