Mohamed Salah melts Zimbabwe’s iron defense with a deadly goal in the African Cup

Mohamed Salah led the Egyptian national team to victory over Zimbabwe 2-1, today, Monday, in the first round of Group Two of the African Cup of Nations.
This victory was the team’s first in the tournament since its victory over Morocco in the quarter-finals of the 2021 edition, as the team did not achieve any victory in the following matches until the end of its campaign in the African Nations 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire in the round of sixteen, contenting itself with beating Cameroon on penalties in the semi-finals of the 2021 edition and drawing in three matches in the group stage in the last edition, then losing on penalties after a draw with the Democratic Republic of Congo in the round of sixteen in the last edition.
Zimbabwe took the lead in the 20th minute through Prince Dube, then Egypt equalized through Omar Marmoush in the 64th minute.
In the last minute of the second half, Mohamed Salah scored the second goal for the Egyptian team, giving the team its first three points in its campaign in the group that opened earlier on Monday with South Africa defeating Angola with the same score.
On the 26th of this month, the Egyptian national team will meet South Africa in the second round of the group, while the Zimbabwe national team will play its Angolan counterpart in the same round.
