Dubai Police joins the International Microbial Monitoring Network

The Genome Center in the General Administration of Criminal Evidence and Crime Science in the General Command of Dubai Police obtained the membership of the International Microbial Monitoring Network IPSNWhich was founded by the United Nations World Health Organization.

And it is “IPSN” A global platform aims to enhance the exchange of experiences in monitoring infectious diseases and monitoring epidemics and pathogenic microbes using genetic sequence techniques, with the aim of early detection of the emerging challenges in the field of public health and a quick response to them.

The network includes research institutions and specialized laboratories from all over the world, which contributes to enhancing scientific cooperation and developing innovative solutions to face global health challenges.

His Excellency Major General Ahmed Thani bin Ghalita, Director of the General Administration of Criminal Evidence and Crime Science, stressed that the joining of the Genome Center to the International Network reflects the leadership of Dubai Police in adopting the latest scientific technologies in the fields of genome and environmental analysis, indicating that this step comes within the framework of continuous efforts to enhance health and environmental security in the UAE.

For his part, Colonel Eng. Rashid Lootah, Deputy Director of the General Administration of Criminal Evidence and Crime for Technical Affairs, explained that this membership represents a qualitative addition to Dubai Police efforts in developing innovative solutions to monitor pathogenic microbes and a quick response to it.

He stressed that the center will work to expand the scope of cooperation with global research institutions to enhance the exchange of knowledge and experiences and improve scientific research.

In turn, Lt. Col. Dr. Mohamed Ali Al -Marri, Director of the Genome Center in Dubai Police, explained that joining the network will enable the center to develop advanced technologies to monitor pathogenic microbes and enhance biological security in the country, in addition to expanding research and technical cooperation at the global level.
