The European Parliament freezes the ratification of the trade agreement with the United States

The European Parliament decided to suspend the ratification process of the trade agreement between the European Union and the United States, in light of the recent threats by US President Donald Trump, its main political blocs confirmed on Tuesday.

The head of the Social Democratic Bloc, Iratxi Garcia Pérez, told reporters that there is an “agreement (supported by) the majority” of political groups to freeze the trade agreement reached last year between Washington and Brussels.
