المملكة: 5 airports top the monthly report on the performance of internal and international airports

Today, the General Authority of Civil Aviation issued its monthly report on the performance of the Kingdom’s international and internal airports, for the month of February 2025, according to 11 basic standards for measuring performance, in implementation of strategic directions, aimed at improving the services provided to travelers, raising their level, and improving the traveler’s experience at the Kingdom’s airports.
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan, Arar International Airport, and Al -Qurayyat Airport received the advanced centers in the report.

5 categories for airports

The airports were divided into 5 categories, which achieved the first position in the category of international airports in which the number of passengers exceeds 15 million passengers annually, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, with an obligation of 82%, while the second was the second King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah with an obligation of 82%.

King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh surpassed King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah in the rates of achieving standards.

The second category for international airports

In the second category of international airports in which the number of passengers comes from 5 to 15 million passengers annually, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam won the first place with 91%, while Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah won 82%.
In the third category of international airports, in which the number of passengers comes from 2 to 5 million passengers annually, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan is in the first place with a compliance of 100%, while Abha International Airport came second with a commitment of 100%.

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport, Jizan, surpassed Abha International Airport in the rates of achieving standards.

Arar International Airport

While Arar International Airport won the first place in the fourth category for international airports, in which the number of passengers is less than two million passengers annually, with a commitment of 100%, beating the competing airports in the total average waiting times for departure and arrival trips.
Al -Qurayyat Airport achieved the first place in the fifth category of internal airports by obtaining 100%, beating all competing airports in the total average waiting times for departure and arrival trips.

It is noteworthy that the General Authority of Civil Aviation is based in the evaluation of airports on 11 basic standards for measuring performance, the most prominent of which are waiting times for travelers in travel procedures, and the time the traveler spends in front of the functioning of luggage, passport areas and customs.
In addition to criteria related to people with disabilities, and several other criteria according to international best practices.
