“The Central” issues a new 100 dirham banknote from today

The United Arab Emirates Central Bank has issued a new 100 -dirham banknote paper, characterized by innovative designs and advanced security characteristics, in line with the vision of the wise leadership in highlighting the leadership of the UAE in the field of sustainability.
The issuance of the new banknote is within the project of the third edition of the national currency of the UAE, where the central bank was keen to design the success story of the UAE through civilized and development symbols that reflect the Renaissance march, which made it a global economic destination and a commercial center linking the continents of the world.
Aesthetic advantages and security characteristics
The design is highlighted by red gradients of red, inspired by the current circulating category, to facilitate its identification, and it also merges the visual identity of the state with inscriptions and drawings in advanced printing techniques (sunken, prominent, superficial)).
The front face of the paper shall be decorated with the image of Umm al -Quwain, the nationalist, which is a historical and cultural edifice, in addition to being a teacher that combines the ancient past and the contemporary present. While the design of the rear face of the cash paper includes the image of the Port of Fujairah, which is considered among the largest seaports in the country and a major center for shipping and maritime transport. It also stands out on the back of the paper..
In order to enhance confidence and combat forgery, this new banknote is characterized by advanced security characteristics and signs, such as technology known as the name (Spark Flow® Dimensions)And the technology of safety chips known as (Kinegram Colors®).
In addition to the distinctive visual effects in terms of security and aesthetic, prominent symbols were added in “Brail” to help customers from the blind and visually impaired by learning by touching this banknote and determining its category. Polimer’s banknotes are more durable and sustainable than traditional banknotes by twice or more.
The new banknote will be presented alongside the current banknotes of the same category from today, March 24, 2025. All banks and Al -Sarafa companies are required to program all cash deposit devices, and their assistant counting devices to ensure acceptance of the new cash papers as being a guaranteed banknote paper by law.
In a related context, the Central Bank won the Best Award for a Cash paper in the European, East, and Africa region for 2025 and 2023 for the two categories of 500 dirhams and 1000 dirhams during the high -safety print conference for the region.
