The United Nations is closely following the situation in Khartoum, and disturbing reports of reprisals against civilians

In his latest update, the office stated that it is still receiving disturbing reports on reprisals by armed groups against civilians.

He again stressed that civilians are not a goal, and that all parties must comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law and international human rights law. He added that serious violations should be investigated, and their perpetrators are held accountable.

Access to the needy

The humanitarian coordination office said that in the meantime, its humanitarian partners are seized every opportunity to reach those in need of vital support.

The World Food Program said that today, Thursday, 1,200 metric tons of food and nutrition aid were distributed to about 100,000 people in the Bahri and Omdurman regions in Khartoum State. This is the first aid truck affiliated with the World Food Program that reaches these areas inside Khartoum since the start of the latest round of hostilities.

In turn, the International Organization for Migration indicated that nearly 400,000 internal displaced people have recently returned to their original cities and villages in the states of Al -Jazeera, Sennar and Khartoum. She cautioned that many belong to areas that suffer from scarcity of basic services, including shelter, food and health care.

The Humanitarian Coordination Office stated that the displacement cases from the states of North Darfur and the White Nile have increased due to the aggravation of the insecurity in these two regions.
