The United Nations: The people of South Sudan cannot bear the consequences of another civil war

In his daily press conference, Dujarik stated that the UN mission joins other regional and international peace partners in expressing its concern about the situation of Riek Machar, the first vice president of the country under house arrest.
Dujarik said: We warn that this measure pushes the country another step towards the brink of collapse in a civil war and dismantling the peace agreement. “.
He stated that the peacekeeping mission urges once again, the president and his first deputy to resolve grievances, end the military confrontation, adhere to the stimulating peace agreement, and move forward in the country together towards the peaceful and democratic future that their people deserve.
He added: “We shed light almost daily on the ordeal and suffering of the people of South Sudan, and it should be clear to everyone that the people of South Sudan cannot bear the consequences of another civil war.”.
He recalled that 9.3 million people in South Sudan really need a form of humanitarian aid, as they keep conflicts and climate change and many economic crisis on the edge of survival.
UN spokesman said it is necessary to put the country’s leaders in the first place.
