The spokesperson for the Ministry of Trade, Abdul Rahman Al -Hussein, confirmed that the fifth Thursday of the month of Shawwal is an important day in the world of trade, for the entry of the two new systems into effect.
Al -Hussein explained that the new commercial registry system witnessed great changes, including the lack of issuance of sub -records for the merchant and only one record, and the lack of a city for the commercial registry and its comprehensiveness for all regions of the Kingdom.

He drew attention to the lack of an end date for the commercial registry and the concession to provide the merchant an annual confirmation of the data, which was restricted in the record, and that the number will be the unified number of the facility, which begins with the number 7, noting that the existing sub -records have given the system a period of five years to correct its conditions.
The trade spokesman indicated that the new commercial names system allowed to book and restrict a commercial name in the English language, and the trade name may include letters or numbers, unlike the previous system, which was limited to the Arabic language without letters or numbers.

Al -Hussein pointed out that the new names system allowed to dispose of the commercial name independently of the facility and can be waived for another merchant, and it is not possible to register a matching name or similar to a facility even if the activity is different. He noted the existence of controls included in the new names system to reserve the family name in a commercial name, and the presence of criteria for banned or shaded names.
