Under the auspices of Nahyan bin Zayed .. the start of the Abu Dhabi Grand Championship for Al -Kanad

Abu Dhabi, April 4 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Greater Hunting Championships, which will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Action and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and will continue over three days until April 6.
The tournament is organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, where the second round of the Abu Dhabi Greater Championships for Hunting Al -Kaad is considered.
The tournament is witnessing wide participation from more than 2,100 hunters distributed over 410 hunting boats, and includes 385 boats for the men’s category, and 30 boats for the women’s category, all of which were launched at ten in the morning, at 298 boats from Abu Dhabi, 52 from the port, and 60 from Dalma Island, to the Arabian Gulf offer, where the fishing places.
The start of the championship, His Excellency Suhail Al -Arifi, Director of the Sports Development Sector Executive in the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Ubayd Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Festival and Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, Dr. Saleh Al Hashemi, Head of the Commercial Affairs Department and the promotion of local added value in ADNOC, Abdel -Khaleq Al -Amiri, CEO of Mir, Sultan Rashid Al Ali, expert in fish trap department at the Environment Authority, Abu Dhabi, And Muhammad Al -Kindi Al -Murr, the representative of Abu Dhabi Naval.
The tournament is characterized by a great diversity in the participating nationalities, where fishermen of 17 nationalities participate: Egypt, the Comoros, Morocco, Qatar, India, the United States of America, Oman, Brazil, Macedonia, Ethiopia, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, the Philippines, Yemen, Uzbekistan, and Palestine, across 27 boats out of 410 boats.
Zayed Sari Al -Mazrouei, head of the activities of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, and a member of the organizing committee of the tournament, stressed that the organizational matters have gone well, as coordination was made with all the concerned authorities to ensure a successful start for the tournament.
Saeed Khalifa Al -Muhairi, Director of Specific Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and a member of the organizing committee of the tournament, said that the Abu Dhabi Sports Council always seeks to provide full support for the championships that combine sports and heritage, where all resources are activated to ensure that the tournament is a unique experience for the participants.
Nasser Al Dhaheri, Acting Director of Marine Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, said that the launch of the Abu Dhabi Grand Championship for Al -Kanad is an extension of the great success achieved by the championship in its first tour, and reflects the level of interaction and increasing interest in this marine sport.
