"Sharjah Executive Program for Publishing Specialists 2025" Monday starts

Sharjah, April 12 / WAM / The work of the Sharjah Executive Program for Publishing Specialists 2025, which is organized by the Sharjah Book Authority under the directives of Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors in cooperation with New York University and the American University in Sharjah and will continue until April 17 at the American University headquarters in Sharjah.

The program is held for the first time outside the United States, and the executives in the publishing sector target through a series of advanced workshops and training sessions that highlight the latest trends in developing content, marketing and artificial intelligence, with the participation of a group of the most prominent international academics and academics in the industry, in the framework of the authority’s endeavor to develop the publishing sector not only at the level of the region but in the Arab world, Africa and Asia, in a way that reflects its comprehensive vision To expand the effect of knowledge and publishing.

The program begins with an introductory session led by Andrea Chambers, from New York University and Christie Henry, from the University of Princeton, followed by a session on small independent publishing houses presented by Christie Henry, who also participates in several sessions on the Princeton model in China and building institutional identity through websites, with Dan Hayter, along with discussions on choosing addresses for the global audience with Michael Reynolds, the design of the covers of an international audience presented by Eins Monch, from “Abrams & Cronic”.

The second day reviews the case of expansion in unexpected fields under the supervision of Christie Henry, and Sanatha Shani, from Words with Borders, participates in a dedicated session on translators as growth partners, followed by a group exercise on exploring translation opportunities, along with a session presented by Nafine Kishor, and Sonlandini Panerry, from “Sejal Box” on integration The acquisition, translation and design of global growth, as well as a case study on publishing rights provided by Inis Ter Horst.

The third day focuses on the global market trends led by Chantal Resteto-Alesi, from “Harper Collins”, which also offers sessions on digital marketing and digital operations, while Carlo Carinho, from “Alpine Global Kolktev”, discusses the future of audio publishing, and today concludes with a session with Kelly Gallaghar, from “Ingram” about global printed book sales changes.

The last day was devoted to displaying modern tools and technologies that start with a session on digital marketing through Meta presented by Joanna Jamil, followed by a session on the effect of Tiktok on selling books with the participation of Donia Abi Nassif and Sarah Al-Moez, as Shantal Restevo-Alysey offers an update about artificial intelligence in publishing, then Marine Diprey, from Harper Collins, presented global trends in innovation, and offers Keith Repereet, a practical presentation of artificial intelligence applications in publishing, concludes with a collective exercise and distribution of certificates with the participation of the Sharjah Book Authority and New York University.
