A study that warns of the disappearance of large icy rivers in Austria

Vienna on April 14/ WAM/ A recent study warned of the disappearance of large icebergs in Austria almost completely in the foreseeable future due to climate change.
The study, conducted by a joint Austrian British research team, under the supervision of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, demonstrated the disappearance of five ice rots in the “Othtal” and “Schaoubai” regions, during the period from 2006 to 2017 in the state of “Tirol” in West Austria.
Experts pointed out that saving a small portion of the remaining ice blocks requires reducing high temperatures to 1.5 degrees Celsius, while numbers indicate that temperatures are currently high by 2.7 degrees currently.
Fabian Mousseon, the Austrian scientist participating in the study, warned of the loss of the last opportunity, pointing out that even if international efforts succeed and the high temperatures are reduced by 1.5 degrees Celsius, the ice rivers in Austria will remain in danger.
The researchers drew a bleak picture of the future of ice rivers in Austria, and expected most of the giant ice rivers in the Austrian state of Terol, if the average global temperature rises above 1.5 degrees Celsius, while the high temperatures will lead to two degrees Celsius, to the occurrence of this bad scenario before about 30 years, and the Austrian state will remain only about 3% of the current ice generation.
