An exhibition on the contemporary Malaysian art in the Cultural Complex launched

Abu Dhabi, April 14/ WAM/ The Cultural Complex of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi officially opened the exhibition “To discover Malaysia is to love Malaysia: one of the holdings of Alia and Farouk Khan” to represent the exhibition the first appearance in the region of the two collections of “Alia and Farouk Khan”, which is the most comprehensive group of contemporary Malaysian art.
The exhibition – which will continue until September 10 – contributes to providing an opportunity to discover the pioneering artworks that formed the modern art movement in Malaysia, which establishes Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading center for cultural exchange and global artistic dialogue.
The exhibition provides visitors with the opportunity to interact with the artists and explore the five axes on which it is diving in the fundamental aspects of the development of contemporary Malaysian art, historical narratives, reflections on historical facts and social and political events from the past and present, cultural transformations, and artistic movements such as expressive and surrealism.
As a prominent addition to the cultural agenda of Abu Dhabi, the exhibition confirms the commitment of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi to promote global artistic dialogue and expand the vibrant artistic scene in the emirate.
The exhibition “To discover Malaysia is to love Malaysia: from the holdings of Alia and Farouk Khan” a variety of expressions and various artworks, through which works are presented to a group of the most prominent contemporary Malaysia artists, each of whom offers a distinctive perspective of the cultural and historical scene of Malaysia.
