Temporary .. Trump is studying the exemption of the auto sector from customs duties
US President Donald Trump drew attention to the possibility of the auto sector temporarily from the customs duties that he decided to impose earlier, to give car manufacturers time to amend their supply chains.
“I study something to help some car manufacturers in it,” Trump told reporters at the Oval Office.
Another round of declines
Trump’s comments have alluded to another round of declines on customs duties, as the fierce campaign of the American President to impose import fees sparked panic in the financial markets, and has sparked deep concerns among Wall Street experts that economic recession may occur.
When Trump announced 25% customs duties on car imports and components on March 27, he described it as “permanent”.
His strict stances towards trade have become increasingly fog, in light of his endeavor to reduce the possible economic and political repercussions of his policies.
High interest rates
Last week, after the sharp decline in the bond market led to high interest rates on US Treasury bonds, Trump announced the unification of his broader customs duties on dozens of countries at only 10% for a period of 90 days to allow time for negotiations.
Meanwhile, Trump raised the fees on China’s products to 145%, then decided to exempt some electronic devices from some of these fees and only 20% fees on these products coming from China.
“I did not change my opinion, but I am flexible,” Trump said on Monday.
