Iran: Suspension of discussions with America due to the continuing war in Lebanon
Tasnim News Agency reported on Monday that Iranhas suspended discussions with the United States through mediators due to the continuing war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The agency reported: "Given the continuing crimes of the Zionist regime in Lebanon, and given that Lebanon was one of the preconditions for Ceasefire, and given that this ceasefire was violated on all fronts, including Lebanon, the Iranian negotiating delegation suspended dialogue and the exchange of messages through mediators." With Washington.
The agency stressed that "Iranian officials and negotiators stressed the immediate cessation of all hostile and brutal military operations of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon, and the necessity of the regime’s complete withdrawal from the lands occupied by the Zionists in Lebanon. Discussions will not take place until Iran and the Resistance Front (referring to the factions allied with Tehran in the region) agree on this issue."
Ceasefire in Lebanon
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said earlier Monday that the ceasefire in Lebanon is still a major condition for reaching an agreement with the United States.
On the other hand, the Israeli occupation entity vowed to resume its strikes on the southern suburb of Beirut in response to what it said was Hezbollah’s violation of the ceasefire, warning that the Lebanese capital will not enjoy…"calm" If the party continues its attacks, after the deepest incursion of its forces into southern Lebanon since its withdrawal in 2000.
