With an unknown projectile.. Investigations into a ship explosion off southern Iraq

Declared Monday, in the Gulf off southern Iraq after it was infected with , which was confirmed by an Iraqi source, but attributed it to a technical malfunction.
The authority received a report about an incident that occurred 40 nautical miles southeast of Umm Qasr in southern Iraq, adjacent to the border with Kuwait.
Continuing investigations
It stated that a cargo ship was crossing the Arabian Gulf when a large explosion occurred after the right side of it was hit by an unknown projectile.
It indicated that it was not aware of any Environmental impact at the present time, noting that the authorities are investigating.
In recent weeks, Iraq announced the reception of several ships in its southern ports overlooking the Gulf, which constitute its only maritime outlet, after its economy was severely affected by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
