"ICAO"..And the re -election of the Emirates to chair the Civil Aviation Security Experts Committee for the third year
Dubai, April 15/ WAM/ The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has re -elected the Emirates to the chairmanship of the Civil Aviation Security Experts Committee for the third year. Hamad Salem Al -Muhairi, Assistant Director General of the Aviation Security Affairs Sector at the General Authority of Civil Aviation, was re -elected to the organization’s civil aviation security experts, for the third year in a row.
According to a press release issued by the commission today, this achievement is the culmination of international confidence in Emirati competencies, and reflects the leadership role of the UAE in enhancing civil aviation security at the global level, as the committee includes 33 experts from member states, representing 193 countries as a member of ICAO.
The decision came during a meeting of the Aviation Security Experts Committee at the organization’s headquarters in Montreal, Canada, on April 7, 2025, in the presence of representatives of the General Secretariat of the Ecoa and technical decision -makers of the committee.
On this occasion, His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said: “The re -election of Hamad Al -Muhairi reflects the international status enjoyed by the UAE in the civil aviation sector at the global level, and reaffirms the confidence of the international community in the efficiency and experience of national cadres that represent the state in international forums.”
His Excellency pointed to the UAE’s keenness to continue its efforts in cooperation with its partners at the regional and international levels, to support the growth and sustainability of the global aviation sector.
For his part, His Excellency Saif Mohamed Al -Suwaidi, Director General of the General Authority for Civil Aviation, said that this achievement reflects the UAE’s commitment to the active contribution in developing the civil aviation security system at the global level, and confirms its position as an influential partner in the formulation of international relevant decisions, and as a leading destination to exchange best practices and experiences with its partners around the world.
