The Arab Bicycle Federation will hold the elections next September and create a position for women

Sharjah, April 17/ WAM/ The Arab Federation of Bicycle announced its holding of its electoral public association to announce the new president for the upcoming electoral session 2024-2028, in the Sultanate of Oman, during the first week of next September.

He also decided to agree for the first time in its history since its foundation in 1975, to create a position that allows women to take over the position of vice president in the upcoming electoral session, as part of a plan aimed at enabling her to perform their developmental role in the strategy of the Arab Federation, as well as establishing the “Road Championship” in Iraq at the end of next October, and the “mountain bicycle” championship in Tunisia early next November, with the status of other alternative countries if any amendment occurred in the hosting program.

This came during the meeting held today in Sharjah, headed by Sheikh Faisal bin Humaid Al Qasimi, in the presence of the Vice -Presidents, Secretary -General, and members of the Board of Directors.

Counselor Ismail Salem Al -Hosani, Secretary -General of the Federation, said that the meeting reviewed the possibility of collecting specific fees to participate in the championships, issuing regulations in this regard and circulating them to member states, and providing all facilities for hosting championships in Arab federations during the next stage.

He explained that the Arab Federation adopted the membership of Somalia, bringing the number of Arab federations to 20 union, with the possibility of attracting unlike unions such as the Djibouti and Comoros federals, and communicating with them to discuss the possibility of their joining.

Al -Hosani stated that the existence of a consensus on the continuation of Sheikh Faisal bin Humaid Al Qasimi as President of the Arab Union for the coming period, given the great efforts he made during his period of assuming the presidency of the Federation that has continued since 1997, and his tangible role in the renaissance achieved by the Arab Union during the last period, explaining that the elections will be transparent, especially as the statute clarifies how the related procedures will be announced, and all the details of the president will be announced during the next period.

He noted that on the sidelines of the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Wajih Azzam, Vice -President of the Arab Federation, former President of the Egyptian Federation, Abdullah bin Ali Al -Wahlan, the second vice president of the Arab Federation, former President of the Saudi Federation, and Dr. Rima Mohamed Al -Hosani, President of the Federation’s Medical Committee,, the second deputy of the Arab bike center, were honored in appreciation of their distinguished efforts in the last period.
