By Trump’s orders … the US State Department expands the auditing of the visa applicants

An internal message of the US State Department showed that Reuters viewed that the administration of President Donald Trump ordered on Thursday to audit social media accounts for all applicants to obtain a visa for the country who visited the Gaza Strip on January 1, 2007 and beyond, in the latest endeavor to tighten the examination of foreign travelers.

The letter said that the order to check social media accounts for all immigrant and non -immigrant visas must include workers in NGOs as well as individuals who were in the sector for any period of official or diplomatic time.

“If the review of the results of social media reveals a possible contempt for security issues, a security consultant opinion will be concerned, which means an investigation between the agencies to determine whether the visa application provider poses a threat to the national security of the United States.

The message was sent to all American diplomatic missions and consulate.

The move comes at a time when the Trump administration has canceled hundreds of visas throughout the country, including the status of some legal residents under a law issued in 1952 and allows the deportation of any immigrant that the foreign minister sees his presence in the country harmful to American foreign policy.

The internal message carried the date of April 17 and was signed by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, who said in late March that he may have already canceled more than 300 visas.

Trump administration officials say that student visas holders are subject to deportation because of their support for the Palestinians and their criticism of Israel’s behavior in the war in Gaza, and they described their actions as threatening the interests of American foreign policy.
Trump’s opponents consider these efforts an attack on the rights of freedom of expression under the first amendment to the American constitution.
