Morocco celebrates the guest of honor of the Rabat International Publishing and Book Fair 2025

Rabat, April 18/ WAM/ In the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, and the Excellency Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority, the Moroccan capital Rabat raised the flag of the United Arab Emirates, to celebrate the Sharjah Emirate of honor the thirtieth session of the International Publishing and Book Fair in Rabat, in a cultural honor for the efforts of the emirate established in strengthening the Arab cultural project, and promoting strategic cultural ties between The United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco.

Sheikha Badour Al Qasimi participated alongside His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rashid and His Excellency Mohamed Mahdi Bensaid, Moroccan Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, in the official opening ceremony of the activities of the 30th session of the exhibition, which will continue until April 27, in the OLM Swiss Rabat space.

Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, after the ceremony of cutting the tape, accompanied His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rashid to the Wing of Sharjah, where she led an introductory tour accompanied Official delegations from both sides, in an atmosphere that reflected the spirit of cooperation and cultural exchange between the UAE and Morocco.

During the tour, the members of the delegation were acquainted with the most prominent initiatives and cognitive programs that embody the Sharjah Cultural Project, which include the works presented by the Emirati publishing houses, the initiatives implemented by cultural institutions in the emirate, and the heritage and artistic events that it provides within its participation in the exhibition.

Sheikha Badour Al Qasimi, accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, made an expanded tour of the exhibition wings, during which they briefed on the latest titles and literary and scientific issues offered, and they stopped at a group of participating Arab and international publishing houses.

The emirate’s pavilion, whose activities are supervised by the Sharjah Book Authority, includes 18 Emirati cultural and academic institutions, which provides a live image of the size and depth of investment in culture, heritage and education.
The Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication hosted the delegation of the Emirate of Sharjah at a private official dinner, at the Shala archaeological site, which is one of the most prominent archaeological sites listed on the list of international heritage sites affiliated with UNESCO, attended by a number of senior Emirati and Moroccan cultural figures, where the ceremony came to celebrate the selection of Sharjah as a guest of honor of the current year of the exhibition, and a translation of cultural ties between the two countries.

Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority, and Chairman of the Sharjah delegation, delivered a letter that conveyed the sincere greeting and appreciation from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to his brother His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and to all the participating colleagues, as well as the deep pride of His Highness for what it provided and still offered by the Kingdom of Morocco from the intellectual and intellectual giving through Ages.

She added: “The relationship between the UAE and the Kingdom of Morocco is not a result of today, but rather an extension of a long history of cultural and cognitive exchange.

She continued: “Here we are inspired by the impact of Ibn Battuta, the legacy of the University of Al -Qarawiyyin, and the contributions of Sharif Al -Idrisi, to build bridges of affection, love and culture between our two countries, and we promote our cooperation the brotherly ties that unite us, which were affected in a past historical period in which the world forces tried to divide and differentiate between our peoples, but today we are a new generation of peoples, and a new generation of leaders who believe in the importance of culture In strengthening the rapprochement between our peoples, we realize the value of heritage, and we appreciate each other with greater awareness and more comprehensive responsibility.

For his part, His Excellency Mohamed Mahdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth and Moroccan Culture and Communication, stressed that this year’s version is distinguished by hosting the Emirate of Sharjah, a guest of honor, which reflects the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, led by the leaders of the two countries.

He said: “We had the honor today with the opening of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rashid for the activities of the 30th session of the International Publishing and Writers Exhibition in Rabat and the organizer under the auspices of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him.”

He added: “We are happy to host Sheikha Badour Al Qasimi and the delegation of the Emirate of Sharjah, and it will be an opportunity to get to know more than the Moroccan audience and visitors to the exhibition on a distinctive culture with its historical tributaries, an international cultural meeting that celebrates reading and writers and throughout the exhibition, it will present a set of seminars, paragraphs and publications in a forum that reflects the position of culture, reading and writers of the audience.”

The Sharjah program, throughout the exhibition, offers a qualitative program that includes more than 50 events, including intellectual sessions, poetry evenings, workshops for children and adolescents, and professional meetings with publishers and creators from the Emirates and Morocco.

Sharjah pays special attention to the emerging groups, as it is organized in cooperation with the Emirati Council for adolescents, and the initiative “Was Ya Was”, interactive activities aimed at consolidating the love of reading and introducing the Emirati heritage in a modern visual language.
