Abu Dhabi, April 23 / WAM / The London Peter Harrington, specialized in selling rare books, participates at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair this year with a distinguished set of works that highlights prominent stations in the history of the Middle East and the Islamic world.

Boom Harrington, the owner of the house, stressed that these books are not limited to their scarcity, but rather embodying cultural memory and belonging, pointing to the increasing interest of gathering enthusiasts in the region and the world in books documenting the details of daily life, such as old cooking books or educational literature that reflects cultural transformations.

Harrington pointed out that cultural openness contributed to making the world of rare books more attractive and easier to reach, especially for young people, which enhances their association with their heritage in a modern style.

For his part, Ben Houston, sales manager at the house, pointed to the growing interest of the new generation of collection enthusiasts in the Middle East, who seek to form groups that reflect their own identities.

This trend is highlighted in countries such as the Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, where cultural institutions keep pace with this wave by supporting regional heritage, language and Islamic philosophy, in addition to the aesthetic of books and their motifs.

Museums and cultural initiatives such as the House of Wisdom in Sharjah and the Misk Institute of Arts play a pivotal role in reviving this interest through interactive exhibitions and inspiring workshops.
