المملكة: The appointment and the registration bond .. the launch of the third batch of Al -Basht Al -Hassawi’s disciple
The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, “The heir”, announced the start of registration in the Al -Basht Al -Hasawi Steam Program held in Al -Ahsa Governorate, which extends over 3 semesters.
It aims to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to enhance the traditional Al -Basht industry craft and preserve it from extinction, by qualifying a national cadre specializing in this craft.
The most prominent traditional cultural elements
The program focuses on the Al -Basht Al -Hassawi industry as one of the most prominent traditional national cultural elements in the Kingdom, and the trainee learns the basics of the craft, its history, its tools and the methods of the bishop.
In addition to the application of traditional embroidery and knitting skills in preparation for the bishot industry and the development of contemporary utilitarian products, by craftsmen who inherited the craft through generations.
The first and second batches of the program were launched during the years 2023 and 2024, and the number of trainees in them reached 22, while the actual study of the third batch begins on the sixth of next July, and will continue until the fifth of August 2027.

The program is one of the training programs offered by the (Wathir) Institute, and aims to provide regular training that gives the trainee the skills and knowledge necessary to practice handicrafts that require specialized qualification.
