"Marine sports" Adopts the governance and institutional work plan

Dubai, 5 February / WAM / The Board of Directors of the Emirates Marine Sports Federation approved a governance plan to support sustainability efforts and institutional work, to enhance its role as a national umbrella for marine sports, thus contributing to the advancement of the marine sports sector locally and internationally.
This came during its first meeting held yesterday at the Federation’s headquarters in the Emirate of Dubai, headed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, and witnessed the selection of His Excellency Khalid Jassim Al Midfa as Vice President of the Federation. It also approved the assignment of His Excellency Khalid Khamis bin Dasmal to the duties of Secretary-General, while the Council reviewed the strategic plan for the years 2026-2028, where the formation of the main committees for the new session was approved.
The Board of Directors stressed the importance of working to develop the marine sports system, and enhancing cooperation and coordination with clubs, in a way that reflects the prestigious position of the UAE at the regional and international levels, and keeps pace with the directions of the Ministry of Sports in supporting the sports sector.
The Board thanked and appreciated the former Secretary-General, Ahmed Ali Al-Sheriani, for his efforts during his work period, praising his contributions in supporting the Union’s progress, and expressing its appreciation to the former Board of Directors members for their efforts that contributed to strengthening institutional work.
The Council reviewed the terms and priorities of the next phase, which aims to adopt the best international practices for developing marine sports, in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of performance and achieving all goals on the broadest scale.
The Council discussed a number of financial and administrative aspects, and a proposal to prepare a comprehensive periodic report on achievements to be submitted to the Ministry of Sports was also discussed.
