المملكة: Irrigation is looking to raise the efficiency of water resources and develop institutional performance
The meeting witnessed a comprehensive review of the Foundation’s performance and the developments of its vital projects throughout the Kingdom, with the aim of enhancing the efficiency of water resources and supporting agricultural sustainability, in line with the targets of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.
The meeting started with a detailed presentation by His Excellency the President of the Foundation, Eng. Muhammad bin Zaid Abu Haid, in which he dealt with the topics included in the agenda.
Water infrastructure development
The Council deepened in discussing the periodic report of the Foundation’s performance, as the main performance indicators and achieved achievements were identified, in addition to accurate follow -up of the developments of the workflow in the ongoing projects in various regions, and the continuous initiatives aimed at raising the efficiency of water use.
The members of the Council stressed the great importance of the continuous support that the water sector enjoys from the wise leadership, noting that this great interest represents a basic pillar to consolidate the elements of water and agricultural sustainability.
They stressed that this support greatly enhances the Foundation’s ability to contribute effectively to achieving the ambitious goals of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision related to this vital sector.
At the end of the meeting, the Council concluded that a set of decisions were taken and a number of directives aimed mainly to enhance the efficiency of institutional performance within the General Irrigation Corporation.
The directives focused on the need to expand the scope of strategic partnerships with the relevant authorities, ensuring the concerted efforts to develop water infrastructure and achieve optimal and sustainable use of water resources in the Kingdom.
