Close two warehouses in Sharjah because they contain prohibited food products

Sharjah City Municipality has announced the implementation of 12256 inspection visits to food facilities during the first quarter of this year, to ensure full commitment to health standards and controls, and to enhance the public health system in the emirate, and within these periodic and surprising visits the municipality closed two food stores for not adhering to the conditions and health standards followed, through which the municipality will provide food Safe and sound for consumers and taking the necessary administrative and legal measures against violators, if the seizure and closure process comes through periodic and surprising inspection campaigns and visits organized by the municipal food control department.

The Director of the Health Supervision and Safety Department in the municipality of Sharjah, Jamal Jumaa Al -Mazmi, confirmed in press statements that the inspection teams and within their inspection campaigns were able to control the warehouse and its food items before entering or circulating the market, as the seized materials included food products that prohibit their circulation or use in the emirate and other products that do not conform to the specifications and health standards, and immediately the municipality took the necessary measures By confiscating the seized materials and destroying them according to the methods used and closing the warehouse.

Al -Mazmi explained that the audit on these facilities comes based on clear criteria that have been set to cover all aspects such as methods of preparation, preparation and food preservation, and the commitment of workers in good health practices and their obtaining professional health cards as well as training them within the Sharjah Food Safety Program, and the criteria also include other requirements such as those related to the cleanliness of the facility, equipment, tools, maintenance requirements and others.

For his part, the director of the Control and Inspection Department, Khalifa Boughanim Al -Suwaidi, stressed that the municipality inspection teams are working within one system to monitor negative and distorted behaviors of the general appearance or those that negatively affect the health of the individual and society, and coordination is taking place between them to take the necessary measures in the event of any abuses, indicating that the inspection teams are characterized by accuracy and observation and a high degree of efficiency in the work.
