Mohamed Al Sharqi is witnessing the launch of the Fujairah International Adventure Tourism Conference and affirms its importance in supporting the tourism sector globally
Fujairah on April 30/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, stressed the growing importance of the adventure tourism sector worldwide, and its role in enhancing economic growth and supporting the pillars of comprehensive and sustainable development.
This came during the attendance of His Highness, the start of the first session of the Fujairah International Adventure Tourism Conference, organized by the Fujairah Adventure Center in partnership with the United Nations Tourism, at the Double Tree Bay Hilton Hotel in Fujairah under the slogan “Society and Sustainability”.
His Highness pointed to the commitment of the Fujairah government to develop the tourism sector in general, adventure tourism in particular, and enhance its pivotal role in supporting economic growth, and supporting the pillars of the transformation in the Emirate of Fujairah and the UAE, as a contribution to achieving its future vision in this vital sector globally.
His Excellency Amr Zain Al -Din, Director of the Fujairah Adventure Center, Chairman of the Supreme Committee Organizing the Conference, said in his opening speech to the conference, that adventure tourism is of increasing importance in today’s world, noting the efforts of the Emirate of Fujairah in developing this growing sector, and the support of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah for the center’s projects and qualitative initiatives, reviewing the achievements of the center and its partnerships in the field of adventure tourism inside and outside the country.
For his part, Mohamed Desouki, representative of the United Nations Tourism delegation at the conference, said that this conference plays an important role in attracting tourism leaders from around the world to discuss the issues of adventure tourism and its challenges, and to open new horizons for investment opportunities that support the local and global tourism sector.
During the launch of the conference, the publications of the Al -Fahira Adventure Center were launched, which are the book: “Mountain Skills”, and the “Open Air Camping” booklet, standards and good practices.
His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah attended the opening session of the conference, entitled Consulting in Adventure Tourism, which discussed opportunities and challenges in the adventure industry sector, in which leaders and decision makers in the field of tourism spoke.
His Highness also witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements between the Fujairah Adventure Center and each of the Cypriot Federation for climbing and mountain sports, and the Ras Al Khaimah Authority for Tourism Development, with the aim of enhancing partnership and achieving its goals and implementing specialized programs that contribute to the field of adventure tourism activities locally and internationally.
His Highness honored the conference partners, who are the Fujairah Environment Authority, the Fujairah Tourism and Antiquities Department, the Ministry of Economy in the UAE, and the United Nations for Tourism.
The conference was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al -Zyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, a group of decision makers and tourism industry leaders from around the world.
