Sharjah and Guinea are looking to cooperate in the areas of higher education, civil aviation and cultural exchange

Sharjah, May 2 / WAM / The Department of Governmental Relations in Sharjah discussed during its meeting yesterday as an official delegation from the Republic of Guinea headed by His Excellency Siko Sharifki Camara, Guinea ambassador to the state, strengthening bilateral relations between Sharjah and Guinea in a number of vital sectors, led by higher education, civil aviation and cultural exchange.

Sheikh Fahm bin Sultan Al Qasimi, head of the Government Relations Department in Sharjah, stressed the importance of enhancing dialogue and cooperation with friendly African countries and exploring common development fields that support stability and achieve mutual interests.

His Excellency the Ambassador reviewed his country’s desire to encourage Guinean students to join Sharjah universities, in addition to arranging scholarships for a number of students, pointing out the importance of visiting academic institutions in the emirate to get close to their educational environments, as the department will coordinate these visits at a later time.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed ways of cooperation with “Air Arabia” to run direct flights between Sharjah and Guinea, because of this positive impact on facilitating the movement of individuals and enhancing economic, commercial and cultural ties, provided that a meeting is dedicated to this purpose in the future in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi said: The Emirate of Sharjah seeks to consolidate its relations with friendly countries in the African continent within a development vision that believes that investment in education and culture is the cornerstone of building prosperous societies and enhancing bridges of civilized communication between peoples, within the framework of the good directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

He added: Sharjah puts the development of its relations with the African continent within its strategic priorities based on its awareness of the importance of these partnerships in building a future based on cultural, educational and economic cooperation and constant meetings with officials in Guinea are an opportunity to explore new horizons for joint work and develop realistic initiatives that contribute to the consolidation of a sustainable cooperation system that benefits on both sides and enhances the role of culture and education in deepening bridges of communication between Peoples.

The Guinean delegation’s visit to the Department of Governmental Relations comes within the framework of Sharjah’s keenness to enhance its relations with African countries and expand areas of cooperation in education, aviation and cultural exchange in line with the emirate’s vision in supporting international communication and building long -term partnerships.
