The UAE is not a party to the armed conflict in Sudan

Reem Kett, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, representing the UAE before the International Court of Justice, confirmed that the lawsuit filed by the Sudanese Armed Forces before the International Court of Justice is not based on legal or realistic foundations and made it clear that the UAE is not a party to the armed conflict in Sudan and does not provide any support to any party, which makes the allegations against it unfounded.

In her statements in this regard, Kett stressed that the UAE is committed to supporting peaceful solutions and enhancing stability in the region, noting that the accusations of the Sudanese armed forces aim to distort the image of the state without concrete evidence.

The UAE had described the lawsuit during the hearing of the International Court of Justice last month as an attempt by the Sudanese Armed Forces, one of the parties to the conflict to pay attention to its responsibilities in the ongoing war and indicated that this step aims to distract the media instead of addressing the roots of the conflict, stressing that the UAE supports peace and stability in Sudan.
