Du profits jump 20% to 722 million dirhams

The net profits of the Emirates Integrated Communications Company “du” increased by 19.8% on an annual basis to 722 million dirhams during the first quarter of 2025, and the net profit margin was 18.8%, which reflects the strength of operating performance and improves returns from benefits.
The company’s revenues increased by 7.4% on an annual basis to reach 3.8 billion dirhams, mainly driven by the strong performance witnessed by the revenues of telecommunications and other revenues, thanks to the economic environment supporting the growth that is characterized by the UAE, the company’s ability to enhance its market share, and the constant focus on products with high returns from each user, and improving the revenue mix.

The revenue of mobile phone services increased by 7.4% on an annual basis to reach 1.7 billion dirhams, driven by the growth of the customer base, the improvement of the revenue mix, and the enhancement of the company’s ability to meet the demand for products with a higher return from each user by allocating offers and the success of the strategy supported by the data it followed to enhance the value provided to customers. Some uncomfortable revenues also contributed to promoting this growth.
The revenue of fixed phone services grew by 10.2% on an annual basis to reach 1.1 billion dirhams, mainly due to the expansion of the optical fiber network in new areas, the continuous success of wireless home internet service, and the new solutions and communication services that the company has offered to the business sector.
Subscriber
The base of the subscribers of the mobile phone services during the first quarter grew by 5.5% on an annual basis to reach 9.1 million subscribers, as the net subscribers in the first quarter reached 475 thousand subscribers. The segment of the subscribers of the long payment services continued its vital contribution as a major engine for growth, as it witnessed 9.6% growth to 1.8 million subscribers, driven by strong demand in the business sector as a result of the services and innovative packages that the company put forward in the market, such as roaming offers for institutions. The pre -payment segment also witnessed a growth of 4.5% to reach 7.3 million subscribers, thanks to the allocated packages provided by the company.

The base of the subscribers of the fixed phone services witnessed a strong growth of 13.8% on an annual basis, to reach 701,000 subscribers, where the net new subscribers in the first quarter reached 19 thousand subscribers, bringing the total number of new subscribers during the past twelve months to 85 thousand, driven by the offers and the distinguished packages offered by the company such as the new basic home communication package, Home Basic, and the Wireless Communication Services package for offices Office Wireless that includes managed solutions.
