For the second time .. Pakistan is conducting a missile test in light of tension with India
The Pakistani army announced a missile test, which is the second since tensions escalated with India in light of the Kashmir attack, which killed 26 people last April.
The Pakistani army confirmed in a statement that the launch of the missile “was aimed at ensuring the operational readiness of the forces and verifying the validity of the main technical standards, including the advanced navigation system for the missile and improved accuracy,” adding that the land-land missile has a range of 120 km.
This comes after the army announced on Saturday that it had conducted a test of a similar land-land missile of 450 km.
The place where the two tests took place was not specified.
Successful training to launch a missile
“The successful training in launching the missile clearly shows that the Pakistani defense is in strong hands,” Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said in a statement. Adding that he is satisfied with “the complete readiness of the army for the national defense.”
Sharif postponed his official visit, which was scheduled for Friday to Malaysia, according to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Monday.
Kashmir attack
New Delhi, Islamabad, holds responsibility for the attack in the Indian part of Kashmir, killing 26 civilians, which led to escalation and raised fears of a new confrontation between the two adjacent nuclear states.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the army “freedom of movement” to respond to this attack in which Pakistan denied involved, calling for an independent investigation into it.
After warning of an imminent Indian air strike, Pakistan confirmed that it would respond strongly to any aggression.
