Sharjah City City Center provides 1000 services to more than 450 beneficiaries during a year

Sharjah, May 7 / WAM / The Sharjah City City Center for the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, celebrated the international month of hearing, speech and language, by organizing a series of educational and training events and programs, which aim to enhance societal awareness of the importance of hearing health, and the diagnosis of speech and language disorders, as well as highlighting the importance of early intervention to ensure better quality of life, especially for children.

Marwa Abdel -Fattah Madi, the official of the Sharjah City Center for Swatcolics, confirmed that during the past year, the center provided more than 1,000 services to more than 450 beneficiaries from various emirates of the country, which included auditory evaluation services, programming and maintenance of hearing devices, and cochlear cultivation, in addition to family counseling and training services for families and teachers.

She added that the center is one of the leading centers in the country and the region in the field of auditory health care, and works to provide integrated services using the latest devices and technologies, with a focus on early intervention programs for the children’s category, as well as the implementation of free auditory examination campaigns for school students, and organizing awareness lectures to raise societal awareness.

She explained that the services provided by the center include different age groups, starting with newborns, through people with hearing disabilities, the elderly, and individuals who suffer from a gradual or sudden hearing loss, in addition to children and students who have speech or language disturbances.

For its part, Alaa Saif Al -Atar, the official of the Council of Speech and Language Specialists in the city, stressed that organizing the activities of the international month of hearing, speech and language comes within the framework of the city’s keenness to spread societal awareness about communication disorders, and enhance the understanding of the role of speech and language specialists in diagnosis, evaluation and rehabilitation, noting the importance of early interference in improving linguistic and speech skills.

The fragrance announced the organization of a dialogue forum entitled: “Bilateral Language: Between Challenges and Opportunities”, which includes scientific and research sessions, and open discussions dealing with the most prominent issues related to the dual language and their educational and psychological effects, in addition to presenting an inspiring realistic experience for a child that exceeded bilateral challenges. Which aims to raise the efficiency of specialists and enable them to the latest treatment and rehabilitation strategies.

She pointed out that seven speech and language specialists working in the city obtain a license to practice the profession from the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, which reflects the professional commitment to the competent cadres, and the city’s keenness to provide specialized services in accordance with the highest national and international standards.
