Emirates University offers courses in artificial intelligence as of the next semester

Al Ain on May 8/ WAM/ The United Arab Emirates University announced the launch of courses in artificial intelligence as an essential component within the compulsory university requirements for all students, of all academic specializations, as part of the university’s agenda for artificial intelligence 2025-2031, as of the first semester of the academic year 2025/2026.
His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Raisi, Acting Director of the United Arab Emirates University, stressed that the introduction of artificial intelligence courses within university requirements is an important strategic step to enhance the role of the university as a leading educational institution in the field of higher education and scientific research.
This initiative, in addition to efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into the curricula, affirms the university’s commitment to providing a modern education consistent with national trends and is in line with the global developments in this vital field, and students enables to acquire the skills that help them in facing future technological challenges, and thus enabling them to interact effectively with modern technologies and harness them in the service and development of society.
For his part, Dr. Fikry Kharbash, Acting Dean of the Information Technology College and Executive Director of Artificial Intelligence, pointed out that the introduction of these courses within university requirements is an important strategic step to develop students’ skills in the field of artificial intelligence.
He added that this initiative comes within the university’s agenda for artificial intelligence 2025-2031, which aims to integrate the concepts of artificial intelligence through various academic specializations, which enhances the learning experience and contributes to preparing and equipping students to keep pace with the rapid variables in various sectors led by modern technologies, especially artificial intelligence.
This step aims to provide all university students, regardless of their specializations, with basic knowledge of artificial intelligence, and enhancing their capabilities in dealing with advanced technologies that have become a basis for various vital sectors.
The university will provide four various preliminary courses that cover the concepts of artificial intelligence and its applications in various fields, designed to suit the needs and specializations of students, are: an introduction to artificial intelligence, the basics of artificial intelligence and its applications, artificial intelligence of engineering, and artificial intelligence of medicine, where students must choose one of these courses based on their academic specialties and future interests.
These courses were developed by a group of faculty members at the university, and a “introduction to artificial intelligence” course presented a comprehensive view of the basic concepts of this technology, and it targets all university students.
