Dubai World Chamber opens a representative office in Dhaka to raise its foreign offices to 35 offices

Dubai, May 8 / WAM / The Dubai World Chamber, one of the three rooms operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, announced today that it has opened a new representative office in the Bengali capital Dhaka with the aim of strengthening trade and investment relations between the business community in Dubai and Bangladesh.
With the opening of the new office in Dhaka, the number of external representative offices of the DP World rises to 35.
This step falls within the framework of the “Dubai Global” initiative, which aims to establish 50 representative offices around the world by 2030, to contribute to the consolidation of Dubai’s position as a leading global business center by attracting foreign direct investments, and supporting international expansion of local companies in 30 priority markets around the world.
The opening of the office came during a ceremony held in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, and was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Ali Abdullah Khasif Al -Hamoudi, the country’s ambassador to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and a crowd of representatives of the business community in Bangladesh.
The opening of the new office comes at a time when economic cooperation between Dubai and Bangladesh is a remarkable growth, as the total volume of non -oil trade exchange reached 6.3 billion dirhams during the past year, recording an annual increase of 9%, compared to 5.8 billion dirhams in 2023.
The increasing interest in investing in Dubai is reflected, as the total number of active Bengali companies registered in the chamber membership reached 9,094 companies at the end of the first quarter of 2025.
His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, said: Bangladesh is a fast -growing dynamic market and abounds with many promising opportunities for Dubai -based companies, and the opening of our new office in Dhaka represents an important step towards strengthening the economic partnership between the two sides, and it will play a pivotal role in strengthening ties between business community, facilitating trade relations, and attracting investments, which enhances Dubai’s position as a leading world center.
Dhaka’s office will support the interests of companies operating in Dubai and Bangladesh, enhance cooperation with the Bengali business community, and build firm relations with partners in the public and private sectors.
The office will also display the competitive advantages of Dubai, establish its position as a global business destination, as well as share the necessary investment information to help the Bengali companies enter the Dubai market, and benefit from the emirate’s position as a gateway to global expansion.
In addition, the new office will provide support and advice to Dubai companies that plan to expand to Bangladesh, by providing the necessary information about the Bengali market, and introducing commercial opportunities in it, as well as linking local companies in the emirate with the trusted stakeholders and potential partners who can help them enter the Bangladesh market and expand their operational operations.
