5.8 billion dirhams of individuals ’financing during February

The banks operating in the country granted individuals worth 5.8 billion dirhams during last February, bringing their total cumulative financing by the end of the monitoring month to 501 billion dirhams, compared to 495.2 billion dirhams at the end of January, with a monthly growth of 1.2%.

Data issued by the Central Bank yesterday showed that the commercial and industrial sector funds amounted to 857.6 billion dirhams, compared to 853.9 billion dirhams at the end of last January, a monthly increase of 3.7 billion dirhams equivalent to 0.4%growth.

The “Central” data reflects a focus from banks on individuals ’funds compared to other sectors, as they granted them during February 5.8 billion dirhams, compared to funds worth 3.7 billion dirhams for the commercial and industrial sector.

According to the data, the total bank investments in bonds, shares and other investments, at the end of last February, amounted to 758.5 ​​billion dirhams, compared to 742.9 billion dirhams at the end of January, with a monthly increase of 15.6 billion dirhams, and 2.1%growth.

The data indicated that the total financial transfers that took place through the central bank system reached during the first two months of this year, 3.4 trillion dirhams, including 2.093 trillion dirhams between banks, and 1.327 trillion dirhams among customers.

The value of the checks that were used using their optical images, during the past January and February, amounted to 234.6 billion dirhams for 3.8 million checks, while the value of the withdrawals from the central bank during the two months in place of monitoring reached 41 billion dirhams, which was met by deposits of 31 billion dirhams.

In addition, the Central Bank announced, on the evening of yesterday, that the basic interest rate will be kept unchanged at 4.40%, indicating that this decision comes after the US Federal Reserve announced to keep the interest rate on the reserve balances unchanged, in its meeting that was held the day before yesterday.
