Abu Dhabi Public Health Center signs a memorandum of understanding with "Novartis Middle East"

Abu Dhabi, May 13 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Public Health Center announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Novartis Middle East with the aim of raising the level of public awareness and prevention of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and chronic kidney disease in addition to improving the practices of chronic diseases management at the emirate level.
The memorandum was signed during the activities of the twenty -fifth world conference for the promotion of health and health education held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), His Excellency Dr. Rashid Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi General Health Center, Dr. Mohamed Ezzeddine, President and Regional Director of “Novartis” for the Arab Gulf region.
His Excellency Dr. Rashid Al -Suwaidi said that this memorandum constitutes an important station in our efforts to enhance public health systems and reduce the impact of noncommunicable diseases in Abu Dhabi and through these strategic partnerships we seek to achieve sustainable health results that contribute to improving the quality of life for society.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Ezzeddine stressed the importance of partnership with the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, which comes within the framework of a joint vision to improve patient care, noting that joint work will have a real impact on the lives of individuals through awareness and early detection and pre -emptive management of chronic diseases.
The two -year partnership focuses on three main strategic axes, the first “health awareness” by launching digital and traditional media campaigns to enhance societal awareness about indicators of danger and early symptoms and the importance of periodic tests to detect chronic diseases, especially heart disease, diabetes and kidney disease, and the second relates to “health protection” through implementing preventive initiatives targeting the groups at risk through early examination programs And rapid intervention, in addition to encouraging the population to adopt healthy behaviors, while the third axis is linked to “improving diseases” through cooperation in developing and adopting international best practices in the patient’s journey from early diagnosis to chronic cases management through uniform protocols and advanced care models.
According to the memo, a joint working group will be formed to coordinate efforts, provided that each party appoints a major official for the implementation and follow -up of the agreed activities.
The team will hold regular meetings to follow up on the progress of projects and evaluate performance based on indicators that are jointly agreed upon that these indicators are reviewed twice annually to ensure their compatibility with strategic goals and changing health needs in society.
This partnership reflects the commitment of the two parties to enhance the integration between the public and private health sector and the employment of innovation in public health to serve a more healthy and sustainable society and comes in the context of the continuous efforts of the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health to address noncommunicable diseases and build an integrated preventive system that keeps pace with developments in the global health sector.
