The Ministry of Education has approved comprehensive and carefully prepared organizations to support students of learning difficulties, with the aim of enabling them to take the evaluation and tests in a more just and adaptive manner with their individual capabilities.
The Ministry confirmed that the newly approved regulations include flexible procedures aimed at achieving the principle of equal educational opportunities for all students.

Support students of learning difficulties

The ministry explained that, according to the new organizations, if the student faces difficulty in reading, then the questions will be read to him in a clear and audio voice to ensure his full understanding of the content content before starting the answer.
She pointed out that if the student’s difficulty lies in writing, the evaluation process will be orally, or the teacher will be allowed to write the student’s answers on his behalf, or even register the answer audio, in line with the student’s interest and special circumstances.
The regulation stressed the importance of distributing the questions in proportion to the size of the subject that the student received during the semester, and is compatible with what he learned according to the individual educational plan designed for him.

The effect of learning difficulties

The organizations indicated that if the student’s learning difficulties extend to affect his performance in academic subjects in which he does not receive specialized support services, such as the impact of reading difficulties on his absorption of the subjects of science or the Holy Quran, the evaluation process will take place through joint coordination between the subject teacher and the special education teacher.
She added that this coordination aims to choose the most appropriate method of calendar that is in line with the student’s actual needs and capabilities.
The regulations touched on cases where the student suffers from attention problems accompanying the learning difficulties, as it recommended that he be evaluated individually in a quiet and free environment from any distorted dispersion that may affect his focus.

Learning difficulties

He stipulated that he be given intermittent rest periods during the evaluation process, according to his ability to focus and continue to perform the required tasks. With regard to students who suffer from hyperactivity, the ministry stated that they will be allowed to move, carry out their places and return again during the calendar, provided that this does not affect the progress of the evaluation process and to ensure their psychological comfort.
With regard to the difficulties of preservation, the ministry explained that the calendar will take into account these aspects by dividing the preservation material into short sections and parts commensurate with the student’s ability to absorb and preserve.
She added that the student will be evaluated after providing assistance to him in preserving each part in a short period that precedes the evaluation, and in the event that the student is unable to memorize, the regulations confirmed that he will be exempted from him, with sufficiency in assessing his general understanding of the main concepts and axes in the subject.

Learning difficulties programs

She noted that if the student faces difficulty in dealing with the multiplicity of topics within one article, it will be evaluated in each subject separately, or merging the topics in a way that corresponds to his absorptive capacity.
The ministry confirmed that all students in the general education stages who were diagnosed and formally classified in the learning difficulties category will fully benefit from the tools and methods of evaluation designed specifically for this category, and based on the approved diagnostic programs.
She stressed the necessity of applying the amending measurement and evaluation tools for these students, even in cases where specialized support services may not be available due to the absence of learning difficulties programs in their schools, whether they are in the primary, middle or secondary stage.

Individual educational plan

The organizations indicated that the evaluation process will be implemented individually, commensurate with the nature of each case separately, and will document all its details and procedures in the individual educational plan for the student.
She added that this plan is prepared by the learning difficulties committee in the school and signed by all its concerned members. Learning difficulties will be the direct responsible for supervising all tests and evaluation operations related to students in the subjects in which they receive special education services.
The regulation indicated that in the event that the student does not benefit adequately from the content of the education submitted within the general semester, he will be evaluated based on the content of the individual educational plan specially prepared for him, as the special education teacher will take over the task of preparing appropriate questions in consultation and coordination with the subject teacher.

General education content

But if the student is benefiting from the content of general education in a specific subject, the Ministry explained that its evaluation will be based on the content of the individual educational plan in addition to the content of the general semester in that subject, with an emphasis that the preparation of questions will be jointly between the subject teacher and the special education teacher to ensure integration and comprehensiveness.
With regard to the highly intense study materials in its content, the Ministry stressed in its regulations the importance of focusing on basic and fundamental concepts when conducting the evaluation process.
She stressed the need to observe the individual differences between students and the degree of absorption of each of them, with the aim of the evaluation is fair and reflects the accuracy of the real performance of the student within the limits of his capabilities and realistic capabilities.
