On his 85th birthday .. Adel Imam, “The Leader of Art”, despite the absence

Today (Saturday, May 17), the birth anniversary of the great Egyptian star, Adel Imam, who celebrates the eighty -five. Despite his actual absence from the artistic scene, and his interruption in it, five years ago, specifically since his recent artistic appearance in the Ramadan 2020 drama, through the series “Valentino”, the Egyptian star is still in the memory of the audience, the media, and his fellow artists, the first “leader” of Arab art.

The son of Imam: Director Rami Imam, and actor Muhammad Imam, received at the beginning of 2024, in a special honor for their father’s march, at the entertainment ceremony “Joy Awords” in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He declared, at the time, that he did not retire, but preferred to devote himself to his family and grandchildren, and that when he would find a new artistic idea, a deep and distinctive scenario, he would return to art again. However, the “leader” absence from attending artistic occasions, and his lack of appearance (voice or image), sparked anxiety about his health, which seemed clear at the wedding of his nephew producer Issam Imam, as the ceremony, which was held last month, did not attend.

From an artistic context, the audience looks at Adel Imam as a unique and amazing artistic case, as he was able for more than fifty years to remain the first cinematic star, and the highest revenue, and his works (cinematic, dramatic, and theatrical) were not limited to the highly crowned comedy of its stars, but rather touched on humanitarian, social and political issues in his works, and the axes of his films, especially in the eighties The nineties discuss large -scale phenomena and social issues in Egypt and the Arab world.
