The Supreme Energy in Dubai reviews progress in sustainable biofuels projects

Dubai, May 18 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Supreme Energy Council in Dubai, chaired the eighth meeting of the council, which was held by default, in the presence of His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice -President of the Council.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Ahmed Butti Al -Muhairbi, Secretary -General of the Council, and members of the Council, His Excellency Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, His Excellency Abdullah bin Kalban, Managing Director of the Emirates International Aluminum Company, His Excellency Saif Hamid Al Falasi, CEO of Enock Group, Juan Freyle, Director General of the Dubai Petroleum Corporation and the Dubai Equipment Authority “DOSP”, and Mona Al -Osaimi, CEO of the Strategy Sector And institutional governance in the Roads and Transport Authority.
The meeting focused on discussing several strategic initiatives that reflect Dubai’s advisory approach to reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.
The Council reviewed the progress made in sustainable biofuels and green hydrogen, which enhances Dubai’s position as a global clean energy center. He discussed the achievements of the World Green Economy Organization in strengthening international partnerships and building local competencies to lead the transformation towards the green economy, and review the results of Dubai Strategy to Manage Energy and Water Dipition 2050, which aims to achieve savings of no less than 30% by 2030, and 50% by 2050 in electricity, water and fuel consumption.
Al -Tayer said: We continue to implement the leading projects in the renewable energy sectors, in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and Dubai Carbon impartial strategy 2050, to achieve 100% of the production capacity of energy from clean sources by 2050.
