A malfunction in the surveillance tower confuses the Paris Airport movement – Orly Willy 130 flights

Paris, May 18 / WAM / Paris Airport – Orly witnessed, today, the abolition of about 130 flights, equivalent to 40% of scheduled flights, following a malfunction of the air control equipment in the airport tower.
The General Directorate of Civil Aviation in France has asked airlines to reduce their flights by 40% until the end of the day, noting that the technical teams are working hard to restore matters to normal. The French Press Agency quoted a source at the airport as saying that the cause of the problem was “radar malfunction.”
It is noteworthy that the Paris-Orley Airport received more than 33 million passengers last year, and the airport had previously witnessed a disruption in the bag processing system last August, which affected about 10,000 passengers.
The Aviation Directorate was unable to determine the date of the resumption of the natural movement, although the turmoil will extend until Monday.
