Critics Awards for Arab Film Awards at the 78th session of the Cannes Film Festival

The “Arab Cinema Center” won the winners of the ninth session of the Critics Awards for Arab Films, which will be held on the sidelines of the “Cannes Film Festival”, in its seventy -eighth session, which will end next Saturday evening, May 24.

The “Center” held a ceremony to hand over the awards, which aims to shed light on the most prominent achievements of Arab cinema during the past year, as the winners this year were chosen by a jury composed of 281 cinematic critics from all over the world, and they were available to watch films, through the “Festival Scope” platform, the official partner of the center.

The ceremony was held at “Plages Des Palmes”, in cooperation with “Mad Solptions” and the International Film Talents Association (IEfta), amid a heavy media presence and attention from those in charge of the International Film Festival.

The prizes were distributed to the winning films, and its artists who won the “Arab Cinema Center” awards, as follows:

– “Best Film Award”:

“Thank you for dreaming with us!”, By director Laila Abbas from Palestine.

– “Best Screenplay Award”:

Nabil Ayouch and Maryam Tuzani, on the movie “Love Tuda” from Morocco.

– “Best Director Award”:

For director Laila Abbas, for the movie “Thank you for dreaming with us!” From Palestine.

– “Best Actress Award”:

For the artist Nisreen Al -Radi, on the movie “Love Tuda” from Morocco.

– “Best Actor Award”:

The artist Adam Pisa is about the movie “The Impact of Ghosts” from France and Tunisia.

– “Best Soundtrack Award”:

The musician Amin Bouhifa on the movie “Aisha” from France and Tunisia.

– “Best Editing Award”:

Lamoaz Dishah, and Felipe Guerrero, for the movie “Sinkex” from Romania and Colombia.

– “Best Cinematic Photography Award”:

Mustafa Al -Kashef, on the movie “A Village near Paradise” from Egypt.

– “The Best Documentary Film”:

For the movie “No Land” from Palestine.

– “Best Film Award”:

For the movie “After”, by director Maha Al -Hajj from Palestine.

– “Critical Achievement Award”:

The award came equally between the Iraqi critic Irfan Rashid and the Cypriot critic Ninos Mickelids, and their choice came, because Irfan Rashid has an extended march for more than four decades in the cinema and the press, during which he succeeded in providing rich content for Arab and international cinema. As for Ninos Michelids, he is one of the most prominent figures in Greek cinematic criticism, where he participated in the founding of the Greek Critics Association and headed by years, and also held leadership positions in the International Federation of Critics and the Greek Film Center.

He also awarded the “Arab Cinema Center” the “Arab Film Personality Award”, in its sixth edition, to Fatima Hassan Al -Rumaihi, CEO of the Doha Film Foundation; In appreciation of her noticeable efforts since she took office to advance the Qatari, Arab and international cinema industry.
