The Arab League confirms its full support for Lebanon and strengthening its sovereignty
Cairo, May 19 / WAM / His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary -General of the League of Arab States, affirmed the university’s keenness and full willingness to continue supporting and keeping pace with Lebanon at the various stations it is going through, and in everything that would contribute to the consolidation of the sovereignty of the Lebanese state and the promotion of civil peace, in order to achieve recovery, development and luxury for Lebanon and its people.
This came during the reception of His Excellency the Secretary -General today for His Excellency President General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, on his first visit to the headquarters of the League of Arab States since he took office.
Jamal Rushdi, the spokesperson for the Secretary -General, explained that His Excellency Aboul Gheit put His Excellency the President in the form of decisions and outputs of the last Arab summit held in Baghdad, and in particular the decision to establish the Arab Fund to support recovery and reconstruction efforts from the effects of crises.
His Excellency the Secretary -General congratulated His Excellency the President on his Arab visits that embody the feeling that a new covenant has started in Lebanon, and that a new launch began in Lebanon’s relationship with its Arab surroundings.
