Abu Dhabi, May 20/ WAM/ His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, participated in a dialogue session entitled “Refining Industry, Trade and Investment”, as part of the opening activities of the “Made in the Emirates” forum.

His Excellency affirmed during the session the UAE’s commitment to advance the development of the industrial sector and enhance local production, through strategic initiatives and global partnerships that support competitiveness and sustainability.
“Making in the Emirates” is a pivotal platform that brings together manufacturers, investors and industry leaders, as it focuses on growth opportunities in the industrial sector in the UAE, and the event highlights the state’s efforts in diversifying its economy and promoting technological innovation and sustainability, which contributes to the consolidation of global partnerships and the advancement of export -based growth.
The strong growth of Emirati exports of goods was highlighted in a recent report issued by the World Trade Organization entitled “World Trade Horizons and Statistics”.

According to the report, the UAE today is ranked eleventh globally in commodity exports, with a value of $ 603 billion in 2024.

The report indicates that the state’s progress is six ranks in the classification between 2021 and 2024, which reflects the effectiveness of the industrial policies pursued by the state.
His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi stressed, during the session, the pivotal role of trade and investment in supporting sustainable industrial growth and promoting global competitiveness, noting that the comprehensive economic partnership program is a major incentive for this growth, as it expands the scope of access to global markets and enhances the Emirates integration into global supply chains.

He said that the comprehensive economic partnership program opens the doors towards various markets, and contributes to the transfer of knowledge and the development of skills across various sectors, pointing to the continuation of the process of innovation and diversification, to build a solid industrial base that contributes to the sustainability of economic growth.
The industrial strategy of the UAE, which is supported by initiatives, such as the “project of 300 billion” and “made in the Emirates”, is seeking to redirect the rule of state exports towards high -value sectors based on knowledge, including advanced manufacturing, fourth industrial revolution technologies, clean technology, and logistical services.
His Excellency Al -Zyoudi added that through the comprehensive economic partnership program, we contribute to consolidating the position of the UAE as a global center for industrial excellence, noting that by harnessing advanced technology and creating integration between goods and services, we pave the way towards a more diverse and flexible economic model.
“Making in the Emirates” highlights the UAE’s vision of manufacturing, stressing its pioneering position as a global center for innovation and investment, while discussions during the forum dealt with the pivotal role that the comprehensive economic partnership program plays in advancing the industrial vision of the state, which enhances the UAE’s position as a major player in the global industrial scene.
