"Abu Dhabi Arabic Language" Announcing the short list of the research grant program

Abu Dhabi, May 20/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center announced the short list of the fifth session of the “Research Scholarships 2025” program, which includes 11 candidates from 8 Arab countries, chosen by the jury in accordance with qualitative conditions, and distributed in four categories: literature and criticism, applied and computer linguistics, the Arabic lexicon, and the achievement of manuscripts.
The presented works witnessed wide competitiveness in light of the great posts received by the program, and the high level that distinguished the participating research, as the number of candidates this year reached 516 candidates distributed among 36 countries with a growth rate of 91 %, compared to the number of candidates last year, which reached 270 candidates, in addition to the growth of the geographical attendance of the program by 16 %, compared to last year, by 36 countries.
This reflects the status of the research grants program in the Arab and international academic circles, its pioneering role in upgrading the Arabic language and enhancing its presence in the Arab and international, and supporting the strategy of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, based on supporting creativity, authorship, and scientific research in the various arts of the Arabic language and its fields.
The short list included 3 research in the category of literature and criticism, which are: “The discovery of the Arabs of Japan – from the Russian Japanese War to the Second World War” by the researcher Reem Ahmed from Egypt, and “Poetry and Culture: The layers of Arabic poetry from a cultural perspective” by Dr. Abdel -Fattah Shahid from Morocco, and “Dream, prison and dark room”, by the researcher Lina Al -Jamal from Lebanon, in addition to choosing one research entitled “Digital Games as a tool To teach the Arabic language: a study of the effectiveness of the adoption in the acquisition of linguistic skills, “by the researcher Muhammad Ibrahim Al -Jayyousi, from Jordan within the short list of the category of applied and computer linguistics.
The jury was chosen on 3 research within the category of the Arabic lexicon, which is “The Dictionary of verbal syndromes, Arabic-English”, by the researcher Ramadan Mohamed Ahmed Bakhit from Egypt, and “The Arabic Treasure Dictionary in the French Language from the Middle Ages to the present day”, by the researcher Shaker Nuri from Iraq, and “Postmodern Sardi Dictionary”, by researcher Ahmed Khreis from Palestine.
The category of manuscript investigation included four research in the short list, which is the achievement of the manuscript of “the heavenly star in the French conquest”, by the researcher Shahrazad Al-Arabi from Algeria, and the achievement of the manuscript “the great meanings in the verses of meanings (by Abu Muhammad; Abdullah bin Muslim bin Qutaybah Al-Dinouri) (213-276 AH) by the researcher Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Hamid Al-Batshan from Saudi Arabia, and the achievement of the manuscript Al -Badnar Bin Al -Nahrawan is a popular Arab biography on the Mongol Arab conflict: “A copy achieved on its first origins in the German Library of Gota“ Investigation and Study “by Dr. Intisar Abdel Aziz Mounir from Egypt, and the achievement of the manuscript of“ a new version for a hundred and nights: a study and investigation ”by researcher Haitham Mahmoud Sharqawi from Egypt.
The program aims to enhance research and studies and build a rooted research base in the Arabic language, and to support the development of Arab research and studies in parallel with stories, novels and other arts.
