Fly Dubai will resume its flights to Damascus, starting from the beginning of June

Dubai, May 21/ WAM/ Fly Dubai announced today the resumption of direct flights to the Syrian capital, Damascus, as of June 1.
The carrier will occupy its daily flights to Damascus International Airport from Building 2 at Dubai International Airport.
“We are pleased to be the first Emirati airline to resume its flights to Syria after a hiatus of more than 12 years,” said Ghaith Al -Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai.
He added: “Damascus enjoys a special cultural and historical importance in the region, and we are proud to serve this city again with a direct daily trip, which reflects our commitment to support the efforts of the UAE to enhance communication and regional connection. Damascus was one of the first flydubai Dubai, where its flights began nearly 16 years ago in June 2009. Flydubai’s decision to resume its flights to Damascus comes after the announcement of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the UAE to resume flights between the two countries April this year.
“We cooperated with the relevant authorities to ensure that all the necessary operational criteria before the re -launch of our flights are re -launched, and we look forward to welcoming the travelers on our flights soon, coinciding with the blessed Eid Al -Adha holiday and the summer summer season.”
