Dubai Police arrests an international wanted person in preparation for his extradition to the Irish authorities

Dubai, April 17, 2017 (WAM) – As part of its ongoing efforts to combat organized crime and pursue internationally wanted persons, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, the Dubai Police General Command revealed that it had arrested “D.J.K,” an Irish national, who is a member of a gang involved in international criminal crimes in his home country, after receiving a judicial file from the Irish authorities that included details of the crimes charged against him and his role within the criminal gang.

The arrest of the wanted person came after the Public Prosecution in Dubai issued an arrest warrant for him, based on the judicial file received from the Irish authorities, to take legal measures in preparation for his extradition to them.

Dubai Police explained that they succeeded in arresting the aforementioned person only 48 hours after the Public Prosecution’s order was issued on April 15. He was arrested after careful search, investigation and follow-up operations that did not exceed two days, which shows the advanced capabilities and great efficiency of the security services in Dubai and the UAE.

Dubai Police affirmed its continued commitment to supporting international efforts in the field of combating cross-border crime, and working side by side with law enforcement agencies around the world, to enhance security and safety in communities, by strengthening partnerships with those agencies and continuing to exchange information in an effective manner that serves to limit the spread of organized and cross-border crime around the world.
