Zayed National Museum announces the opening of the application for the Research Finance Fund 2025

Abu Dhabi, May 21/ WAM/ The Zayed National Museum announced the opening of the application for the Zayed National Museum of Research Fund for 2025 for researchers from all over the world, until July 14, 2025.
The Research Fund, whose total value is one million dirhams, supports research projects that contribute to preserving knowledge and deep understanding of the heritage and culture of the UAE and the region.
The Zayed National Museum of Research Fund derives its message from the values embodied by the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, through his commitment to supporting ambitious and high -level research that contributes to preserving the cultural heritage of the UAE and reviving the UAE, and promoting knowledge, innovation, and flexibility.
The Research Fund provides research grants and aims to support both veteran and beginners researchers, whose work seeks to deepen our common understanding of the history and culture of the United Arab Emirates and the region.
His Excellency Saud Abdul Aziz Al -Hosani, Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi said: “The promotion of knowledge and creativity reflects our firm commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of Abu Dhabi and the UAE, inspired by our efforts from the legacy and vision of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul.
Al -Hosani added: “The UAE has always formed a meeting place for cultures, ideas and progress, and the Zayed National Museum Fund for Research Finance is a natural extension of this legacy, as researchers enabled the limits of discovery and expanding the horizons of knowledge that constitute our understanding of the past and direct our common future and the research fund embodies the commitment of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, with support Heritage. These discoveries are not limited to adding new knowledge, but also enrich the present and enhance the cultural identity of our youth and all members of society, which enables us to share our ancient heritage with the world more broadly.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee that includes representatives from the Zayed National Museum and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, as well as experts specializing in the field, and research projects will be held according to criteria that include research methodology, experience, and desired results, and the extent of their compatibility with the museum’s message.

The main topics of the Research Fund include several axes, including the biography and achievements of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless him, the inappropriate heritage of the United Arab Emirates, archaeology and the history of the Arabian Peninsula and South Asia region, in addition to conferences and lectures that focus on priority areas.
Since its inception in 2023, the Zayed National Museum Fund for Research Financing has provided support for 18 research projects from around the world, including China, Egypt, India, Italy, France, Sultanate of Oman, Poland, the UAE, the United Kingdom and the United States.
These projects have varied to cover a wide range of specializations and topics, from studying the art of rock inscriptions in the south and east of the Arabian Peninsula, to explore the legacy of Sheikh Zayed and his deep impact on society and culture in the UAE.
The Fund also contributed to supporting researchers who studied the history of the population in the region by analyzing the remains of organic waste, and exploring historical trade paths between India and the Arabian Peninsula region, as well as monitoring the cultural transformations of the residents of Al Ain Oasis during the early bronze era.
Thanks to the legacy left by the founding father, the Zayed National Museum will be the most comprehensive source of information about the history and culture of the United Arab Emirates, as it tells the story of this land from ancient times until the present day.
