المملكة: Jeddah .. An agreement between “Caust” and “Energy City” to enhance cooperation in vital fields

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Kaost), the city signed a memorandum of understanding with the university, at the headquarters of the “Kaoust” in Jeddah Governorate, in the presence of His Highness the CEO of the city, Dr. Mamdouh bin Saud bin Thanian Al Saud, and the President of the University.

The memorandum aims to enhance scientific and technical cooperation between the two sides in a number of vital areas, including renewable energy, hydrogen, artificial intelligence, creative design, and open innovation, with a focus on accelerating the adoption of sustainable technologies and the development of primary models and applied solutions that contribute to addressing national challenges.

Training programs to qualify national competencies

The agreement also includes the launch of joint educational and training programs aimed at qualifying national competencies, and developing specialized academic paths, as well as supporting entrepreneurship through the creation of incubators and technical business parks, in order to enhance the empowerment of innovation and stimulate the sustainable energy system.

The areas of cooperation also include providing technical consultations and organizing scientific events and specialized exhibitions, as well as the exchange of data and technical information, within the framework of an integrative partnership aimed at developing local content and supporting national efforts in the fields of energy, technology and innovation.

This step comes within the framework of King Abdullah City for Atomic Energy and Renewable to expand its strategic partnerships with the leading academic institutions locally and globally, in order to enhance its contribution to achieving the targets of sustainable development and innovation in the Kingdom.
