"Khalifa Medical" Save a baby from a serious congenital heart disease
Abu Dhabi, May 27 / WAM / A multidisciplinary team in the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City of “Health”, saved the life of a newborn baby after suffering a rare and complex congenital heart disease.
A two -month -old girl underwent a series of accurate medical and surgical interventions, including open heart operations, treatment catheters, and the use of life support techniques outside the body in an experience that medical cadres described as “a victory for integrated health care.”
Since birth, the girl suffered from heart failure, in addition to serious health complications, including necrosis intestinal intestinal inflammation and epileptic seizures, and was entered by the intensive care unit for children; Where it underwent several decisive interventions, most notably a process to expand the aorta valve and the surgical of the intestine.
After weeks of careful care and recovery under the supervision of an integrated medical team, the girl was discharged from the hospital to start her new life at home with her parents.
The child’s mother expressed her deep gratitude to the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City team, for its support throughout this difficult trip.
