Abu Dhabi, May 30/ WAM/ The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Cyber Security Council of the UAE government, organized a comprehensive cyber exercise to enhance cybersecurity in the field of health care, and to simulate the best practices and customs of cybersecurity among all workers in this vital field.
The exercise, which comes within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two sides, aims to enhance the safe digital infrastructure of the sector, which enhances the position of the Health Department as a leading destination in harnessing digital health techniques to provide global health care.
The exercise included simulating a series of potential cyber attacks, with the aim of raising the readiness of health facilities and enhancing their efficiency in dealing with digital accidents, in addition to testing the effectiveness of approved plans to communicate and respond in such cases.
These efforts come within the framework of the Cyber Security Council to enhance close cooperation with the various public sector institutions, based on its belief in the importance of the strategic partnership in protecting the state’s digital infrastructure, as the Council pays special attention to enabling all vital sectors, including health, education, energy and services, from building advanced cyber capabilities that contribute to the effective confrontation of the increasing digital threats.
The Council is working to provide technical and consulting support, and implement specialized training programs, to ensure the continuity of services and protect national data, in a way that enhances digital flexibility and establishes cybersecurity according to the highest international standards.

Participated in the exercise held at the Bab Al -Bahr Hotel in Abu Dhabi, trainees from various parties affiliated with the Department of Health, and the exercise focused on assessing the extent of the health sector’s readiness to meet the growing cyber challenges, as well as a review of international best practices and practical recommendations that guarantee the readiness of health institutions for various forms of digital threats, and helps to continue to provide basic health services without interruption, even in cases of cybersecurity.
The exercise also took an expanded offer for digital health care services provided by the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, where the importance of accurate and advanced protocols was emphasized to store and protect patient data and their sensitive information, ensuring that maintain the maximum confidentiality and privacy.
It also included a realistic simulation of the activities of the Department of Medical Operations Center, which included protecting health data and securing vital information, in a way that ensures the continuity of medical services even during the attacks.
This exercise is an important step in the context of strengthening cyber flexibility for the health sector, especially since this sector is one of the main objectives of electronic attacks due to the sensitive information it contains used in the acts of impersonation and digital fraud.
Based on this privacy, the Cyber Health Department and the Cyber Security Council worked to build various scenarios of risks, enabling health facilities to prepare for the constantly changing and developed threats.
It is noteworthy that the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi was the first in the state and the region in launching an integrated strategy for information security in the health sector, which is the first of its kind, and it works as a comprehensive framework that defines the basic principles of the approach adopted by the emirate in protecting this vital sector.
