A strategic partnership between the National Agricultural Center"sail" To enhance innovation in the field of agriculture

Al Ain, May 31/ WAM/ The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Saher) announced the launch of a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the leadership of agricultural innovation in the UAE.
This partnership culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the National Agricultural Center and the Sharjah Center for Entrepreneurship, Sail, on the sidelines of the activities of the fourth and final day of the UAE agricultural conference and exhibition in Al Ain.
The signing of the memo was attended by His Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, His Excellency Najla Al -Midfa, Vice -President of “Sharaa”, Sultan Salem Al Shamsi, Director of the National Agricultural Center, and Sarah Abdel Aziz in Al -Haifa Al -Nuaimi, Executive Director of the “Saraa” Center.
Sultan Salem Al Shamsi said that this partnership embodies our continuous commitment to the guidance of the wise leadership towards building a sustainable and flexible food future for the UAE and added that supporting innovation and empowering entrepreneurs and farmers citizens is a pillar in our strategy to enhance local agricultural production and raise its competitiveness and in cooperation with our strategic partner, a center of sail In developing climate smart technological solutions, and supports our efforts in reducing agricultural waste and increasing the efficiency of resource use, which is directly in achieving our national target for food security and sustainable agricultural development.
He said that the signing of this memorandum during the UAE agricultural conference and exhibition confirms the importance we attach to the concerted efforts between the governmental and private sectors and entrepreneurship support institutions, to provide the necessary support for farmers and young entrepreneurs to be an effective part of the process of shift towards modern and sustainable agricultural systems.
For her part, Sarah Al -Haifa Al -Nuaimi said that this partnership starts from a common belief that sustainable agriculture is a basis for strengthening the state’s readiness for the future, and a major engine for innovation, stressing that a sail continues its commitment to enabling entrepreneurs to transform challenges into opportunities.
She added that through the Sharja Center for Excellence in Sustainability, and in cooperation with the National Agricultural Center, we are working to enable a new generation of entrepreneurs by providing them with the tools, knowledge and networks necessary to build qualitative projects that contribute to supporting food security, enhancing the ability to adapt to climate change, and contribute to building a diversified economy capable of keeping pace with the aspirations of the future.
The Memorandum of Understanding sets a general framework for cooperation between the two parties to develop the agricultural entrepreneurial system in the UAE, by supporting emerging projects in the agricultural sector, exchanging knowledge and experiences, launching joint initiatives and projects, in addition to enhancing innovation in sustainable agriculture and agricultural technology.
It is expected that this qualitative initiative will contribute to enabling the citizens of citizens by introducing them to the innovative solutions that start startups, supporting their adoption of smart agricultural practices climatic, and providing new opportunities to develop their projects and enhance their contribution to the national food security system.
The National Agricultural Center also signed a memorandum of understanding with the new economy of the economy, regarding joint cooperation in developing and implementing training programs, building capacity and institutional cooperation in the agricultural sector.
The memorandum aims to develop and implement specialized training and awareness programs in the fields of agriculture, in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of workers and those interested in the agricultural sector, enhancing sustainable agriculture practices and supporting the innovation system and transferring knowledge through building technical capabilities among national cadres, in a way that ensures the continuity of excellence and adopting the best modern agricultural practices, and supporting sustainable development efforts and food security through educational and awareness initiatives targeting various categories Society, in a way that enhances environmental and food awareness and supports the achievement of sustainability targets, and setting effective mechanisms for governance, follow -up and evaluation to ensure the implementation of the agreed initiatives according to clear performance indicators, in a manner that achieves the desired impact and enhances the continuous improvement of joint cooperation programs.
While the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Emirates Growth Fund signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of setting a general framework for cooperation between the two parties in support of growth and enhancing sustainable development in the United Arab Emirates, and supporting projects and initiatives that contribute to achieving environmental goals and national food security strategy 2051 and UAE vision 2031.
The two parties will cooperate based on the items of the memorandum to determine the priorities of work in the areas of sustainable agriculture and food security, and to provide a list of initiatives and priority projects that the fund can support as well as support the harmonization of projects that funded national policies and strategies such as the National Food Security Strategy, and the Emirates Climate Neutage Strategy 2050, in addition to supporting projects that contribute to achieving food security while preserving environmental resources, and encouraging investment in agriculture Sustainable through motivational tools and encouraging agricultural entrepreneurship.
